2002 Commencement Speech

I was honored to be invited to give HCC's commencement speech. I ended up putting a few hundred graduates to sleep, but at least now I know what not to write (or say) should I ever have to write a commencement speech again!

TIGR Awards 2000 Keynote

September 29, 2000 - Sheraton Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii

TIGR (Targeted Index Growth Report) was until 2003 a locally-sponsored newsletter that highlighted growth industries in the state of Hawaii. Each year promising and successful organizations in these industries were awarded. This is the keynote speech for the 2000 awards, touching on the ills of Silicon Valley and the "New Aloha Economy".

Of course, some of the points are a bit dated since this talk was given before the "New Economy" started crashing later that year.
