VRML: Browsing and Building Cyberspace

May 1995

In 1995 I was asked to design a book cover for Mark Pesce's book VRML: Browsing and Building Cyberspace, the first book on VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language), published by New Riders Publishing. Neither of my designs made it to the cover as a 100% translation, but the logo and overall tone was used.

My first choice as the cover design. I presented this as a second choice. I had about six other variations total on both of these covers.
The actual cover design. Note the nice silver-foil embossed lettering. This is the CD that came with the book, which New Riders Publishing designed.

This is the chapter art I designed, which was used in the book.
